The Rise Of Skywalker
STAR WARS is my favorite movie (yes, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK is the better of the two). It came out when I was 6 years old, and it's the only movie I ever saw in a drive-in theater. When Darth Vader comes on the screen for the first time, it was the most intimidating thing I had ever seen. It's still one of the best character introductions ever. I became such a huge fan, and it is the reason I work in the movie industry.
I am so disappointed with this last trilogy. The prequels were terrible, and I had a lot of hope that JJ Abrams would turn it all around. FORCE AWAKENS was fun but had it's problems. THE LAST JEDI managed to do something that no other sequel had ever done before: it made me hate the movie it was a sequel of. There were so many things wrong with that movie, but the biggest was that it highlighted all the plot holes and lack of character development that the first movie had.
I'm not going to spoil this new movie for those that haven't seen it, but this third one doubles down on the bad character development, stupid plot contrivances and the realization that Disney and all it's glorious film makers never bothered to sit down in the beginning and craft a proper arc for the trilogy. You think they would have learned something from Marvel. In short, I don't care about any of the characters on the screen to make this the emotional experience it should have been in wrapping up the saga.
Anyway, if you like non-stop action and having your senses exhausted at every minute, you'll probably like this and think it's the best Star Wars movie ever.

Is he the same guy who directed Snowpiercer? The name is familiar.
@topic: For me, it would be "Dunkirk". I really liked how well that was made.

Damn that was a good film, I was disappointed they didn't make more. That would have been an excellent film series. Hugh Jackman seemed to fit the role rather nicely.

Caless StudentLast movies I watched are Little Women and JoJo Rabbit.
I'm not sure how I liked JoJo Rabbit because at first it's slowpaced and a bit comedic, but it took a turn almost at the end. It left me disturbed and how a cute movie starring a kid, will make you learn something about what happened during Hitler's time.

Indie Artist"Run Lola Run"
If there ever was a movie that illustrates a "ghost ladder" this is it. What is fate? We make choices that affect our future, sure, but how can we be sure it wasn't fate that made us make the choice? And when we make a choice, can we ever control the results of that choice? Well Lola has a big problem, and 20 minutes to resolve it. Choice is pitted against fate. Which prevails?
It was made in 1998, and you might have difficulty finding a copy, but I guarantee it's worth it. It still feels contemporary even if the EDM background music is a bit retro.
It's in German, but subbed to lots of languages, even Japanese (Yahoo Japan auctions) Also available dubbed, if you hate reading. Please consider watching it!

I've seen this film several times. It's one of my favourite German films. Tom Twykver is a great director.
