Maybe people who have watched the anime or read the manga, Kids on the Slope, could identify, haha. But pretty much the two genres I've been attached to as of the last couple months have been J-Pop/Rock and Jazz. I'm personally a big fan of the hard bop genre (Art Blakey is my favorite) and have been jazz singers such as Ella Fitzgerald, and Japanese vocalist Natsuki Morikawa! Anyone else listen to jazz?

Shiroten PerformerI've been listening to a lot more Jazz lately and my personal favourites are Diana Krall and Tony Bennett. Haven't listened much to Japanese Jazz but I think I should start sometime.

Shiroten PerformerI like jazz quite a bit, but I don't know that many artist.
My favourite artist is Bill Evans.
other than that I also listen to Miles Davis and Pat Metheny, the only japanese artist the I know/listen is Hiromi Uehara.
Also a band with a jazzy and pop vibe that I enjoy quite a lot is The Reign of Kindo, they really deserve more attention, they're really good.

First off, what kind of jazz? I believe jazz music is a very broad yet very interesting topic to discuss about.
I am a huge fan of jazz specially the traditional jazz renderred by let's say a 16-piece orchestra that was very popular in the '60s. In case you remember the theme songs of classic TV shows like Star Trek, Mission: Impossible, and I Dream of Jeannie, etc., those are well-known examples of it.
I also listen to smooth jazz and jazz-fusion acts in the likes of pianist/singer Jamie Callum, guitarist Jeff Golub and trumpeter Chris Botti.

Jazz was one of those genres I only really picked up 1-2 years ago. I love listening to Madeleine Peyroux and other similar singers when needing that "quiet time".
I saw Wynton Marsalis live in 2012. It was an experience that perked my initial interest in jazz as a whole. Great concert at a spectacular venue.
