Kanikapila won a Scandal cover band contest a year or two ago, and I believe just released their first studio songs in the last six months or so. Also, I remember seeing three of the girls from Kanikapila competing on an episode of AKBingo where about a dozen different bands were doing covers of Give Me Five by AKB48. I believe those girls came in 2nd to a metal group called Nisekima II (or something like that). During that contest back in like 2012, the three girls were in middle school and elementary school.
