Yeah totally, you can pretty obviously feel the Weezer in the song but I can sense the Foo fighters in there for sure too!

@spacecadet I think the door was not properly shut because they have to let the cameraman to get in to take the shot of the dashboard before the car is actually running. Anyway I see they are all good to have their seatbelts fastened while driving on the road.

Not sure I really hear any Foo Fighters (and I'm a huge FF fan).

I like the video but I would have preferred seeing them play their instruments. It doesn't really make sense for them not to, any more than it would make sense for them to not sing along with the vocals. In both cases they're miming it and we all know that, but it just looks weird if they don't do it.

yup i agree it is a nice change.  Mami wrote the lyrics and music.

Sometimes bands need to take a break from the type of songs they used to sing and make something different for a change.

I think stamp is a good song. Whether it be old scandal or new scandal I think a good song is still a good song. And I think is a good change remembering they have more influence nowadays despite the old days. If they doesn't change, people will eventually get bored to maybe.

The most important thing is all the members seems like they having a lot of fun. And they are really cute in this PV. XD

The Scandal girls are artists and they have the freedom to create and experiment.  Isn't that what we liked about them when the first broke into the music scene?  So why try to hobble them?  why try to keep them the same.  Their evolution may turn into something better in the feature that keeps existing fans happy and captures new fans.

Honestly, they're always super accepting and supportive of pretty much everything SCANDAL releases. The only thing I've seen that a lot of them haven't truly liked is the band's new logo.

Let me preface this by saying that I don't dislike Stamp! or the PV. I said it's not my favorite, but that doesn't mean it offends me in some way. It's ok, it's just... kind of boring. It feels like something I'm familiar with from outside of Scandal, which means I don't really need it from them. I look to them for something else.

Japanese fans will always react differently to something like this. First, because American stuff generally is very popular and trendy, so a Japanese band intentionally trying to sound American will come off as trendy and exotic.

And second, because their Japanese fans probably have never even heard the songs that Stamp! takes its inspiration from. To us, it might sound like Weezer; to most of them, it just sounds vaguely "American". A lot of Japanese bands, not just Scandal, have songs in their catalog that sound suspiciously like pre-existing American songs for that same reason. Their fans have just never heard those songs, so their riffing on them sounds completely new.

I think this is a song made specifically for their Japanese fans, *because* of how American it sounds. It's not for us. I'm sure they'd be happy if we loved it as much as their Japanese fans do (I take your word for it). But I think it's likely that they didn't expect us to. They're playing to their home crowd here.

As much as I'm accepting anything SCANDAL does, this is just one thing that I'm not so absorbed in their latest stuffs (only Your Song, tho lol) since I've gotten tired of listening to the same sound I used to hear.. so yeah. I'd appreciate it more if they re-invented that same sound into something new, like a mix of their own style and the American style or something (like what Yuyoyuppe's made to have his own sound) I think that would sound interesting

If I really need to clarify, I was stating what I literally saw. I searched on Twitter, scrolled through hundreds of tweets, and saw tons of positive opinions and honestly no negative ones. My Japanese friends also said the same sort of positive things.

Anyway.

I already have HARU's "Stamp!" outfit together and I think I might get RINA's top next!

I also can't wait for the official lyrics to come out. I can make out most of the song, and the lyrics sound like they're very positive and uplifting. Sorry if that's a bad description but I can't think of how else to really describe them right now, haha.

Me too! I really wondered how the English lyrics will fit in. Nonetheless, as much as I am tired of the California/American sound (Californian right here), something about Stamp has got me loving it. 

You can also do Tomomi's outfit too, it's a simple yet nice outfit. (and not because I'm Tomomi-biased. Haha)

That hoodie is a super rare UCLA hoodie >_> we've been trying to find it for a while but nothing haha, on the topic of the outfits, I ordered MAMI's shoes and should be in the mail very soon, i dont particularly enjoy the sleeveless hoodie but I love the jacket, also trying to find it but its very hard. 

On the lyrics topic, they do sound uplifting and happy (?) lol, cant wait for the translations

I was able to find everything of Mami's Stamp! outfit (even the hoodie, though no longer for sale) except the flannel which I figure I'll never actually find one exactly like it unless I get it custom. But has led to new flannels for me that I found along the way ^^

haha like Noodles said, we've been trying to find her sweatshirt but it's unfortunately super hard to find. If I ever do come across it I definitely will buy it, though!

Well...when you put it like that...er...Are the items pricey? Sorry, just really interested (even though I'm a guy, haha). I really liked your other Scandal outfits, so I do hope you find the ones used in Stamp!
Bringing up the lyrics/Stamp! again: The vibe I get from it is happy, being very stress-free, and doing what you love. When the lyrics do come out and are translated, I feel as if they'd match perfectly to the melody. I really wish I could get Stamp! I just finished the rest of my wallet buying some stuff from Tower Records, and all of a sudden my phone rang with the notification that Stamp was going to be released.
