It's really cool that japan has fireworks festival!
I hope she gets to go (even in the mid of the tour xD)

I have a friend in Niigata and they have REALLY cold winters there, in the old days they would be cut off by the snow for months.

The only 'cat's tongue' I've tasted is shiroi koibito from Hokkaido... so good that I'm rationing it to one piece a week.

They had a massive snowfall in late November when I was enjoying a semi-tropical 18 degrees in Tokyo. I thought I was watching the wrong news channel.

That looks like a serious firework show. It would almost be frightening.

I looked it up, and Niigata averages over 7 feet (!) or 217cm of snow every year, and it snows on average 70 days each year. Yikes.

On a funny note and before Jade beats me for going miles off topic my friend Mina who lives in Niigata boasts that the schoolgirls there wear the shortest skirts in Japan just to show how hard they are.
