So hey guys, recently moved here from Peru and looking forward meeting some of ya peeps, what you think if we gather up sometime? Thoughts? I live really far away at Lake Forest but lets see where you guys are from. Already been talking with Zim a little bit but I think this will be the best idea right?

I hope we can actually meet and do something fun :>

were planning on rolling out to Anime Expo in downtown Los Angeles this year! (first week of july) so hopefully we can all meet up at some point, should be lots of fun Nice one
also, bigOeyez has connections with costumes and stuff like that so if youre interested in maybe dressing up for anime expo you can try asking him about it.

i dunno about some of you but i get kind of jealous when i see all the PH members rollin deep to anime conventions and stuff like that haha, and with the growing number of SH members in cali i think we have the opportunity to do the same, and i think itd definitely be cool if we could do that too

so feel free to put up any ideas you might have, if youre interested, whereabouts in california you are, or anything really lol. and not just ppl in cali either, we encourage everyone to throw in ideas (PH members, maybe you have suggestions/ideas since you already are established in your anime con adventures?)

anyways, hope this thread proves useful to everyone interested!

holey smokes! this thread was created already?! HA HA! oh I dropped the ball on that one...

but I'm located down in San Diego or Temecula, so Los Angeles isn't too far away from me... Lale, you're about 1/2 way from SD and LA, so we can coordinate whatever meeting spot...

I'm usually out and about at car meets, so I'm free on random days... Generally, most people around here who are japan-o-philes just set up a meeting spot in Japantown because, well, that's the most typical place to hold it at (HA HA!), but the beaches over here are quite nice...

I'm not sure if everyone has a mode of transportation, so we'll have to take that into respects also...

Depending on where you move to... The big cities are pretty much the same when you compare it to some place like LA, which is why the small town folk don't think of the city slickers as real Texans... HA HA!

Well, considering it's summer there, it's perfectly understandable that they are gonna have a BBQ. Tongue I don't know many people who have BBQs in the winter - maybe spring??

oh snap, looks like you guys got something going already... HA HA! anyways, I mentioned on SB earlier that I had some free time until New Years, so I was suggesting that we should meet up while I can...

I know Lale is new to the area, so we can try picking out areas that have plenty of places to go to, different things to do, etc.... Remember that I'm 26, so my expertise lies in party areas, bars, lounges, etc... HA HA! but I'm mindful to chill spots... here's some places to throw around:

- I'm a local of San Diego and Temecula, so I know plenty of good places to eat, chill, sight see, etc... Plus a majority of my friends are down in SD, so BBQ'ing in the Winter is on! HA HA!... Has plenty of tea shops, sushi shops, asian restaurants, tourist spots, etc....

-Westminster/Garden Grove area, Lale doesn't live too far from the area and like Zimbob mentioned, Boiling Crab is there... HA HA! Lot's of pho shops, tea shops, asian restaurants, etc...

-Los Angeles... I have to mention Little Tokyo since it's one of the easiest places for anyone to remember that's into Japanese culture, but there's plenty of places to eat and some trinket shops strewn about the area... But you can't say LA without saying Melrose (forget Hollywood, it's over rated...), a long strip of road that's full of restaurants, contemporary shops and all things trendy... It's more of a place to shop than a place to chill...

But I'm down for anything, as long as work doesn't pull me down... HA HA!

SCANDAL goods? In Little Tokyo?? Somehow I doubt it... Thinking Never a bad idea to hope tho, I guess. Ever since coming back from the REAL Tokyo, Little Tokyo kind of makes me sad. .shy.

HA! Yeah, Little Tokyo isn't AS Japanese as you'd think it would be, but it's more of a community center/trend setter area... (Oh man, if Lil Tokyo were to look like or even be booming like Ueno or Harajuku, I'd be all over that... but I feel your sadness as well...)

*ahem* There's 3 main parts that out of towners actually visit, which is the court, plaza, and center... The food is good, but I 2nd that on not finding SCANDAL goods, but there could be a slight chance at this one anime/clothing (little clothing... heh...) shop...

If Little Tokyo is a definite go, then we gotta have a good schedule of things to do because there's only shopping and eating... Beach afterwards? Venice beach is about 10-15miles away and there's plenty of bodies walking around there... heh...

Allright this seems nice, I like the little tokyo thing you say, I really dont care about the places tourists visit, since im not a tourist anymore and I'll probably be going down to Downtown a lot once I get my license. I sure would like to chill, have some fun and eat some weird asian stuff xD Even beach sounds nice, just chilling there in the sand...

Tenjou you joining us? :D!

Alright, here are some suggestions.

In Weller Court, go to Orochon Ramen, its so f-ing good!!!

For sushi, go to a place called Sushi Imai, its near Torrance, legit Japanese people run it and its just a couple! They have great Miso Soup and great cuts of Sushi
