Good news and bad news.
According to the representative I talked to, the vendor is not allowing refunds for this particular event. However, when I explained the situation about the regular and VIP passes, and mentioned how I had just purchased the VIP pass, she said there might be something she can do. She verified the VIP purchase with me. Then, she has sent an e-mail to the vendor requesting authorization to refund the face value of the regular ticket ($39.50) and included documentation of the VIP ticket I had purchased. She said it takes 3-5 business days for such request to be reviewed, and that I should contact them next Friday if I have not heard anything from them. She stressed that there is no guarantee that the vendor will be willing to authorize the refund.
So, here starts the waiting game.
