I haven't found any topics dedicated to Rina Katahira, but I feel she at least needs a mention in the Music forum; even if no-one else likes her music, I do.
Rina is from Fukushima, and has two albums, Amazing Sky, and Saiko no Shiuchi
Her music sits loosely under "Easy Listening". I hear hints of western artists like Jewel, Dido, Sade, Dixie Chicks in her music, but again she brings her own sound too, with some obvious ones like Party being quite energetic (thank you Scandal).
*EDIT* Lene Marlin too. I'm also getting some Marie Ueda vibes the more I listen.
It's obviously a lot different than the high energy music of Scandal, Silent Siren, and really has that "solo artist" sound to it. I didn't initially embrace her music, but it's grown on me, very relaxing and a nice contrast to most of the other Japanese music in my collection.
So, are there any other fans of her, or her music here?
