Since Scandal is a all girls band, & strong willed, beautiful, elegant, with a touch of if you touch Me I'll be removeing your arm permanently.
I figured a game where the main character is female & a real female at that, not some hard ass ballsy chick with 2 pistols between your eyes wearing so bearly little that You wounder how they dont freeze to death.
anyways, in VP1 espicaly You are not only a strong women, your a Valkyrie, a goddess of death war & rebirth.
You go around the human world recruiting dead/fallen hero's to recruit & train there souls for Ragnarok in prepairing to send them to Valhalla.
what make's this game intresting however, is there is 3 valkyries however only 1 is alloued awake at any given time while the othere 2 sleep in human incarnations. at the start of VP1 Lenneth is incarnated as Platina a girl from a small villige whoms mum was going to sell her to slave traders untill Her childhood friend saved her but lead her to a field of poisenous flowers where she dies in he's arms.
You then awaken in Valkyrie form, all prior memories of human life have been sealed away so that your "Human" emotions do not interfear from your duty as a Valkyrie. However as You find out later on, the gods and mortals are not so far apart in how they feel and treat each othere.
Recruiting a soul for ragnarok enable's you to view there last moments alive and get a small inside to there lives n personality, some of the death sense are very dramatic & heartfelt I cant remember how to spell he's name but the 1st archer You get He's passing IMO was the saddist.
From now on what You do in game has 1 of 3 effects towards the end.
c) = Freyja finds You faulty & reseals You = game over
B) = You defeat the king of the ice giants in Ragnarok & save asgard
A) = You remember You human expereinces, You remember Lucian, You rebel agesnt the othere gods, Loki destroys asgard & the human realm, then Lenneth Evoules
There are 3 Valkyrie's in tottal, Lenneth, Silmeria, & Hrist
Lenneth is the more motherly type & care's about the human souls but trys to keep inline with the othere gods
Silmeria is the rebel, shes sterm cute n stuborn, she is the reason for the exsistence of vampires, she refused to send any more souls off to the war of the gods and turn her final victim into a immortal creature, she belives the time of the gods is over n wants the mortals left to there own accord.
Hrist is dark sexy sinister n sly however, that is more of a upfront of her true self, she is indeed sensitive and caring and rational, the reason for her harshness is because she feels the harsh punishments she postoted on people are less harsh n cruel then that of what odin would do, so she is in a sense cruel to be kind.
It's a realy complexed game once you get into it, espicaly about the difference between morality and godhood & that even after "Ragnarok" takes place that doesnt mean things can not "be reborn/created"

I wasn't able to resist quoting some of your striking comments about Valkyrie Profile for that reason. I have tried it before when I used to have the PSP. I've only played Valkyrie Profile 1: Lenneth, didn't even finish it because I was lazy xD but the experience was good. Jeez, I was able to relate and I felt somehow nostalgic reading your post! My hands would really ache real bad after playing that game. I've also had sleepless nights from playing it.. oftentimes I play it on my bedroom with the lights out and the volume on a minimal level. Of course, I wouldn't want to wake up people at that time of the night.. and would end up playing it at 4:00am or so. I agree with your comment about the storyline too, it's indeed.. enthralling while you play it. I've always been fascinated by Norse Mythology but I got into it more when I played the game. I don't think I need to say more, it's just plain awesome. I wish I finished it though, but it's too late to say that, haha.
