Kitty Records (Scandal's previous record label, now their management) just opened the official Canta webshop. It's operated by "Planetaria" (プラネタリア), and they don't ship internationally. The domestic shipping fee is 630 yen, and there's an additional handlig fee too (under 10.000 yen = 315 yen, between 10.000 and 30.000 yen = 420 yen, between 30.000 and 100.000 yen = 630 yen, between 100.000 and 300.000 yen = 1.050 yen; see here). There are currently not much thing there, but it looks like Canta got new friends. BTW it's just opened today (May 19) and one of the five items (the bandana) is sold out, wow.

They might be trying to launch Canta as its own independent mascot character, like Rilakkuma or other similar cute characters. However, I wonder if Mami had any involvement in designing the other Cantas.

Hum they must be related no? Canta was created by MAMI/SCANDAL i think, i doubt that their management would steal this and be completely unrelated to Scandal. That being said it's weird i see nothing labeled Scandal on their site, just everything about Canta...

And there is nothing about Canta on the official Scandal webshop. It's a bit weird, wouldn't it be better to have everything on the official site?!

Talking about the official webshop...It isn't really sexy, looks a bit old/amateur (with that giant banner at the top!? uh). They sell a lot of different things but not Canta. Maybe they decided that Canta was only their mascot when they started as young school girls and now they don't want that anymore because they are adults? Do they still have him around or talk about it or something? I only saw him in old videos.

That may explain why it's separated like that because the official site is "kitty.co.jp" and Canta is managed by Kitty records.

Anyways........... I have to say i'm a bit disappointed they don't ship outside Japan at all, nowadays they should know that there are a lot of fans worldwide... Just make the shipment more expensive if that's an issue? There must be a reason they don't do it i guess (law? cost a LOOOOT more?) but it's still weird in 2013 IMHO.

I mean i'm not a marketing genius or seller but they could sell all their products (including Canta) internationally, just hire someone to manage this and raise the prices a little bit? To not lose money they could even have limited stocks and resupply after people ordered the items.
