here is another band i stumbled across that is quickly becoming one of my favorites. the closest equivalent i can think of to their sound is "Vampire Weekend"

Nice find!  I'm liking these tunes  (but they do look a bit dorky to me).

I was planning to start a thread for recommendations on good modern Japanese, all-male rock bands. For whatever reason, I haven't come across any I particularly like, but I'm finding a lot of all-female and mixed bands that are really good.  I'll check out more of Go!Go! Vanillas and the other band you mention, Vampire Weekend.

I usually send out an email to my work colleagues on Friday's called "Happy Friday Music," and most of the time it's a Scandal video, but tomorrow I'll send them the "Ema" video.  Thanks.

Since there is so little musical content from these guys on YouTube, I recently bought two of their albums from iTunes ("Kameleon Lights" and "Magic Number"), and I have been listening to them virtually non-stop the last couple of days.
