After a sluggish release, the 3DS has finally solidified its position in the market with a well rounded library. Classic Nintendo games such as Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D provide the foundation and appeal to almost everyone. But now there is also something for folks with different tastes, with shooting games like Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater, Resident Evil Revelations and Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Now new marquee titles are starting to enter the fray as well. Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward won Gamespot's handheld GOTY award with its amazing story and fantastic replayability. And i am sure many of you have heard of the extremely hyped Fire Emblem: Awakening. It lived to its hype and delivered big time, generating near perfect reviews across the board everywhere.



And what about the future? Pokemon X and Y, the first Pokemon with a complete departure from the sprite 2D world, is just over the horizon with a worldwide October 2013 release. A completely new Zelda 3DS is in the works, and, according to the creator, is going to be inspired by the classic A Link To the Past. Hold it! Don't forget about the cult series Phoenix Wright. Yep, an Ace Attorney 5 game is in the works and its release will likely be slated for 2014.

Lol, me and my friends buy a Nintendo 3DS for the release of Pokémon and start it all together!

I'm also looking forward to Fire Emblem. I play the games since Gameboy Advance Times!

Fire Emblem franchise has been one of my favourites for a long time.

I already own a 3DS, and own 4 games for it. Pokemon Black 1 & 2, Final Fantasy Theatrhythm, and Fire Emblem. Well worth the money, if you ask me.

3DS is a sure buy for me even with the sluggish release.

Now that i am working i will be buying it soon.

im actually planning on getting one myself but i get ugly reviews about it so i was doubtful .sweat.

It's been 4 months I'm planing to get a 3DS. When I read his post I realize one more reason to get it. .clap.

I bought my 3ds xl in february and did not bother to register it. Then this happened 2 weeks after I bought it:

Luigi's Mansion is looking like its going to be a hit...I already spent like $300 on this system+games already, give me a break!!

I did not even touch my copies of Fire Emblem:Awakening and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward yet...still trying my hardest to beat Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. 41 hours in and I am still at the beginning of the Shadow Temple .wew.

Same here. Really mixed reviews. The 3DS seems like a hit and miss for most people ( generally miss for some reason )

The price of a 3DS XL seems pretty good at the moment.... argh.

I really miss pokemon...sigh... but if I do get the console, it'll just be for pokemon since the other games haven't really caught my attention... :O

I will buy one so I can play the ones I'm emulating!
