sorry if this posts sounds rather negative, especially when so many people in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand are still on a high after their recent concert.

so recently i was thinking about the disbandment of Funky Monkey Babys, and for some reason I can't get my mind off the day when SCANDAL disbands. I mean, no band can stay together for their entire lives right? Especially for an energetic group like SCANDAL, i don't think they would be able to keep up their energy levels beyond their 40s. they like any other girls may eventually want to just settle down and start a family.

from that point, I started thinking about what would happen to SH when SCANDAL eventually disbands someday. would people stop visiting this place because there won't be any more news about lives, singles, albums and new photos from them? or would people keep coming back, even if it's just to hang around the shoutbox, due to the friendships forged with each other?

what are your views everyone?

a band can disband, but the memories remains. It will still be a journey well-taken I guess.
At the end of the day, all things good and bad come to an end, what matters is during the period it happens, did you go all out to support them, and of course enjoy yourself?

I agree that when the time eventually comes, we will have a treasure trove of great memories with the girls. These memories are still being formed now and it is up to us to do our best in our own capacities to support them during their active days.

While the forum would probably be not as active when that eventuality occurs, it will definitely serve as a great memory bank and archive of the girls' amazing careers and achievements.

Perhaps it could even be used to track their individual activities if they remain in the entertainment industry. But it has always been my hope that they will settle down one day.

It's really up to the members who will stay or who will leave the forum. Nonetheless the latter can result to shutting down of course. lol

I know your sad because SCANDAL just held 2 concerts in Singapore. You want them back and disappointed that it won't happen now but you shouldn't have post something negative about SCANDAL. HAHAHA Just Kidding.

Well, Stereopony's international forum Very Good Days has been revamped now to cover Draft King and Aimi's potential solo work. And of course, they're working on archiving everything from Stereopony. I'm sure if the day comes for SH, something similar will happen.

I know how the OP feels, though; it's like you have to be prepared for disappointment, to lessen it when it happens.

That said, I used to be a big PUFFY fan (I still like them and follow them, but not like before), and I remember having similar discussions about them on various forums. Now, like 16 years after their debut, they are still going! Nobody expected that. I used to run a blog dedicated to them, and I kind of expected I'd close it down after a couple years. But I ended up turning it over to someone else because they just didn't stop.

Most bands do break up at some point and if you think about it, even a lot of the world's most popular bands were only really around 10-15 years. The Beatles, for example, lasted from just 1960-1970. It seems like longer because they left so much behind. And of course a couple of the individual members are still around making music and playing live even more than 40 years later, so I'm sure any Beatles forums that exist still talk about that. It'll be the same with this one, I hope. The question is, will *you* guys still be following Haruna, Tomomi, Mami and Rina when they're 60 years old?

That's precisely the question that was implied by me. As much as I would like to, even I myself don't know the answer to this. It's very easy to say "I will" at this point because it's just talk, but certain circumstances over the years may change a person's viewpoint towards these things. How strong will the support for them last even after their disbandment? Will SH survive the test of time years after they disband and go their separate ways? No one knows.

On a lighter tone, I can't imagine myself screaming like a mad little child like how I did last weekend when they're 60 years old, I'll be too old to do it .lol.

60 years old Scandal? Hope they have a spot for me and my wheelchair on the left front.

I agree, and I'd go further for myself and say that I probably will *not* follow them as closely after they break up. I don't know them personally (though I'm sure we all feel like we do sometimes), so I follow them now because I like their music and I like their style, and I like the bit of their personality they allow the public to see. But they don't write most of their music (I wish they did) and if they were in a different band or solo, most definitely their style would be at least a bit different too. So I'm sure I'd still have an interest, and *maybe* any new thing they did would be really good in its own way, but I doubt I'd be checking this forum multiple times per day or pre-ordering everything they put out as soon as it's up.

I feel like the most likely cause of them breaking up would be declining sales and a declining fanbase, though, so you'd see this forum becoming less active *before* the breakup. I don't think they're the kind of a band that would flame out on the way up; it all seems too important to all of them. Haruna in that BS documentary said she would "die" without Scandal, and she looked dead serious when she said it. Mami said in that same doc that she wouldn't know what to do if there was no Scandal. I've seen them all say similar things. So I doubt we really have to worry too much about them staying together - we should worry about ourselves as fans first!

I don't plan to change that as I get older, whether I'm cheering for Scandal or somebody else.

This thought came up to me as well.. but you never know what might happen in the future. I don't know what'll happen to SH but I do know I'm still going to support them when the time comes. I've always hope they would seek their happiness one day.. I'm a little worried about how things are going now even if they enjoy it.

I haven't really thought of being 60 years that far ahead..
But I did meet a 52 year old uncle jumping around beside me during the live in MY .dance. and I hope I'll still be that lively when I reach that age. .smile.

SH should join forces! We are a growing community and when the time they'll disband, we're like half of the world's population

Definitely think the management can see that potential and would better keep on pushing Scandal to the top! but yea, it was the same for Stereopony and they disbanded anyways :/

i hope they'll still stay together, at least for the next 5 more years.

I just got out from a girl group fanbase when one of the members graduated. Craving for more, I found my new thing to look forward to everyday, SCANDAL.

If Scandal's not around anymore, then.. T_T

SCANDAL still has a lot more to go.
Then again, it will be very sad to see them disbanding. If that's the case, then SH will continue to live for them and their awesome memories. Oh you know what I mean.

I saw this happen on both sides.

I loved, and still love, SIAM SHADE and ZONE, and saw both bands break apart. There were solo projects, and even reunions, but nothing is like it was when the bands were active. There are still small online communities dedicated to both bands, but as there is no more news to be discussed, the fandom has decreased greatly.

And I saw forums die out without the influence of its subject. There are several anime and music forums that people just stop frequenting.

My opinion is, SH's future depends entirely on its members. Even if SCANDAL disbands, if members build friendships between themselves, then SH will survive through the years. After SCANDAL's end, members will come back considering much more the friends they made here than their love for the band, because we all can simply continue to listen to their songs long after they disband.

^ Is right, SH won't vanished so long as we truly want to keep it alive. And as long as i can, i'll post to any threads here so that it won't waste with time.
