ELLEGARDEN was a Japanese rock band formed in December 1998 in Chiba. Ellegarden consists of drummer Hirotaka Takahashi, vocalist/guitarist Takeshi Hosomi, guitarist Shinichi Ubukata, and bassist Yuichi Takada. In 2008, Ellegarden announced their indefinite hiatus.

They play pop-punk music, similar to that of bands like blink-182, Green Day, Good 4 Nothing, and Hi-Standard. A lot of their lyrics are comical and fun.

Supposedly, Mami likes Ellegarden.
This was one of the first J-rock/ J-punk bands I have ever listened to. Way before I knew about SCANDAL.

I found them pretty early in my interest of Jrock but I never really paid much attention to them till later. Oh Mami is a ellegarden fan? Cool!

Pity this band as disbanded...

@bleachnlife: They're not exactly disbanded, they're just on hiatus. Hopefully they'll get back together soon. It's kinda funny how the singer went off and formed another band called "The Hiatus".

When I first heard Ellegarden I thought they were American because of the singers voice. I was surprised that they were Japanese.
Anyway, they are pretty awesome. Salamander is my favorite.
