Chakura are a four piece girls band from Tokyo formed in June 2022 and they released their first MV "Kurage" on November 1st 2022. Thanks to YouTube algorithm for suggesting them to me a couple of weeks after this I've been following them ever since and have fallen in love with Chakura.
Their songs written by bassist Wakitaruru are about the trials and tribulations of being a teenager from my understanding but have a certain catchiness about them. They are still inexperienced and incomplete by their own admission on a Twitter post but are showing a real dedication to becoming something bigger and better.
I've been lucky enough to see them 3 times on Twitcasting and since the first live (officialy their sixth) the improvement and confidence in their performance has grown, they have also been hosting a YouTube live every month which usually descends into fits of laughter. Their friendship and after show photos do remind me of a certain band that are also very close to my heart maybe one day Chakura will have the same level of success until then it's going to be fun watching them grow.
