The Ears That Heard The Thrill

Since the day we formed the band,
I've started to listen bands song.
I haven't heard properly
the sounds of drums, guitar, bass.
After I get used to hear it, it's just flow.








I just realized for the first time, that until now
I only heard the vocal.
Well, I wonder isn't that music is those vocal things?















By listening to the voice of the vocals,
the word that was sung by that voice, is the feelings, the emotions.
















When I could played those 8 collapsing beat on drums
That was the first time that changed the way I listened
to music.
I felt that I could feel out the drums.
I'm so excited.
Whenever I heard the songs few times, there's always new feelings that came out of it.







That's certainly what I felt on our debut days,
and felt so nice on recent days,
Until last years,
it's easy to understand, how attractive, intense, the sounds of guitar and bass that were played so quick, and some set of showy fill-in,
Such things that I like,
and enjoy.
I would say that's the only thing I'd love to play.







But,
Recently,to be honest,
I love to play
middle tempo stuff,
or ballad, it feels good.
I could hear the lyrics properly.
Melody A pound my heart,
Melody B made my heart felt painful,
And the hook of the song would blast me in fascination.
It could pull the world view,
And could become the main character during those 3 minutes.








Intense rock n'roll,
that showed with loud performances is what I love so much,
And song with loose lyrics that seems immersed into the song itself,
The truth is, the song with definite pureness and sparkling matters is can be very attractive,
and that's　good.
And there's always a hidden poison,
It would be awesome until you found that thrill.
The scene that can't be seen on CD
It's showed in live concert
When they let us to complete the song we play at the live house, it's the best thing that I love.
And wherever or however we work it out, the time when we frame that image up,
is close to the highest top.
















That's why, I'll do the live.
I'd love to go to lots of places as much as possible.
The image I had since I was born
is genuinely play at the livehouse
Laughing while answering the audience, and be thrilled,
I want to meet you. More often. Always.

jigoku79 OMG thanks for this most excellent translation. I was fine up to the part where she starts getting so techincal about music. I wish I was musically inclined with knowledge of instruments and such. Thank You again!!!

Great post and translation (I tried to translate it myself but I couldn't get past some of the grammar )

My sentiment regarding musical appreciation mirrors hers. It happened many, many years ago when I was a young lad but I remember the epiphany very clearly:-

Learning how to play music will forever and profoundly change how you listen to and appreciate it. It becomes closer to looking at a painting than just merely listening to some song on the radio. Small, tiny little details jump out; harmonies become obvious and can have effects that no words can describe.

The deeper you go the more interesting it gets and the more rewarding and satisfying.

You don't have to be a pro to have this effect take place. You just need to be able to play a bit and be open to all kinds of music to reap the full reward.

Again, great post by RINA. It would be so great to hang out with her and talk about music.

I have got great pleasure from making music since I was 14 ( a long time ago ! )
so I understand very well what Rina is saying and how excited I was when I
joined my first band as a bass player, I still enjoy it just as much now so she has
years of fun to look forward to.
Scandal have been together since 2006 now so of course she must have learned
a lot in that time.

I understand what she means. Since I started playing guitar 2 years ago, I also hear music totally different. I started to pay more attention to the instruments and even songs I listened to many times sounded totally different somehow.
And even now I still find little things I didn't notice before in a song.
Rina's blogs are always touching.

Yes, I agree with everything you just said ^^

It's like you said it for me.

I can also relate to her!. When I started learning guitar and piano, it made me realize that there is so much more in a song. Not only the lyrics but the skills that the members put in the song. And it struck me even more after I've learned to play the bass. I never heard or take notice about it before but since then, I think that the bass is as awesome as the lead guitar!. Especially on the Japanese music, you could really hear how great it is!.

I can relate to her too right now because I'm starting to learn guitar and I learned to listen to every music of the instruments in a song
