By which I mean are there any songs that maybe you dismissed or didn't fall in love with when you first heard them (or maybe they simply didn't get played as often as some of the others), but now you find yourself listening to them over and over?

For me, it would be "Kimi to Yoru to Namida". I listened to the album in full a couple of times, but after a while I just began selecting the tracks that I wanted to hear repeatedly (like many people do with CDs). "Kimi to Yoru to Namida" was not one that I consciously chose to play. Then one day, I was walking through the London Underground, and "Kimi to Yoru to Namida" came on while I was waiting for a train. I listened to it, then realised that I hadn't heard it very much. Now I can't get it out of my head, and I listen to it every time I play Scandal. The part that has lodged itself firmly in my mind is when Haruna sings the word "yakusoku". Her voice sounds lovely through the whole track, but I particularly like the little break between "yaku" and "soku".

Are there any songs that grew on you over time?

Mmm, Kimi to Yoru to Namida is indeed a great song, OP, it's my favourite song from SCANDAL even through all this time.

As for songs that snuck up on me...I must admit, at first I thought all of BEST SCANDAL was mediocre except for Kimi to Yoru to Namida. Then I gave them all a listen, and I ended up liking most of the songs in the album (Anata ga Mawaru, Ring! Ring! Ring!, Hitotsu Dake), and now I honestly think that BEST SCANDAL is the best album I own. Like, it's the first Japanese album I imported from Japan. Cost me a small fortune, but whatever X.X

But as for a specific song that snuck up on me...

TOKYO.

As for why, I saw the live dance. That was all. xD

But no, seriously, as for a song that I really fell in love with while hating it at first...Appletachi no Dengon. At first I wasn't really used to the sound, which has a lot of distortion and such, I just didn't like it, but one day I was bored in the car, so I turned on my iPod, went to shuffle, and ended up liking this song quite a bit. The guitar riffs are pretty sick

I agree with Kimi to Yoru to Namida. I thought it was okay at first, and it was overshadowed by other songs that I loved on Best Scandal, which is my favorite album. I listened to it more and enjoyed it, which only made me love Best Scandal even more.

I also didn't really notice Switch until I listend to the SH Podcast and several guests started naming it as their favorite song. I listened more closely and started loving it. I even tabbed out the bass part and posted it.

Finally, I didn't like the PV for Cute! that much because the girls had a bit too much makeup on in the bedroom scenes, and the song was rather poppy compared to their previous releases. But then I saw Tsunvun's guitar cover and noticed how epic Mami's guitar part is, especially when they performed it for Ontama 2011. I also learned the bassline, which is pretty fun to play as well.

mine would be Ring! Ring! Ring!

at first the song was just fine. i listen to it sometime when it would play, but most of the time i would skip that song. but when i rewatched the Best Scandal concert that song just.... how do i explain it... since then i would listen to that song maybe 1-2 times a day.

I used to dislike their songs GLAMOROUS YOU and Sparkling. The first time I heard of those was when they had the online pajama party (in which I was spamming to get the SCANDAL members to notice me). They sounded too pop for my liking but the songs grew on me after few more times of listening.

even other songs of scandal..when you listen to them everyday..they wil somehow be more cooler than you first noticed

I used to not like the song "TOKYO", but after I listened to it a few times when it came up on shuffle, I started like it. It had a weird catchiness to it. I also never paid attention to the lyrics, but when I did, it was basically telling a story. (Good thing I can understand Japanese lol)

I also used to not like "Hikare" because I didn't like the beginning of the song, but I never actually listened to the full song. One time, I decided to listen to the full song and I loved the chorus, which made me like the rest of the song.

I didn't like "Cherry Jam" because it sounded way too much like "Super Sonic" by JJ Fad, and "Fergalicious" by Fergie...but then I noticed it was a little bit different in it's own way, and I eventually grew to like it.

I didn't particularly like "Shoujo M" either until I saw the live video for it, where the girls are up on stage without their instruments and they were dancing.

For me it's Koi no Kaijitsu. I really didn't like it at first 'cause I think they're only making noises (sorry 'bout that) but then one time I was traveling in a far away province alone and I was feeling a bit down but then Koi no Kaijitsu suddenly played and it somehow uplifted my mood back then haha. And now it's one of my most-played SCANDAL song.


Another one is Shining Sun. I started listening to it more often after the girls played it live in their encore in TB Tour.

at first I am neutral about Harukaze. But then, after finally hearing it more, especially when I'm alone, it actually became my top V favorite SCANDAL song :D

Hmmm mine would be Emotion .... actually in my first Scandal Song ranking I placed this song in my bottom five .... but guess what it's my fourth favorite song of them now. The reason for that is it's wonderfully written lyrics. When I listened to it while reading the english translated lyrics I fell in love right away.

Another one would be Space Ranger... haha I didn't like this song at first but after listening to it a few more I was suddenly captured by it. Thinking that this is one of their early songs. The song was simple but it was nicely done.

Huum I d'ont know... Maybe Kimi to Yoru to Namida yes, or Secret base yes .happy.

Not really snuck up on me in that it grew on me, but this fantastic piece completely went undetected by my SCANDAR:

I wasn't too crazy over TOKYO (thought the vocals sounded off), Shoujo M (thought it was a Shoujo S "sequel", was expecting it to be more rock-ish), and Sparkling! (too "manufactured") the first time I heard them.

But then they performed those songs live... and now I am. :>

at first i didnt like KOI MOYOU but right now i always listen to it . i love koi moyou so much .smile.

The one SCANDAL song that really snuck up on me was "Hi-Hi-Hi". The track didn't really stand out for me on the Temptation Box album, compared to other songs like GIRLism and EVERYBODY SAY YEAH, which I really liked. It wasn't until I watched their Budokan Live Concert DVD that I really started to appreciate the song, and now I can't stop playing it!

Mine was probably Cherry Jam at first I was like WTF is this weird song... now I'm like rapping along with it..

Cherry Jam initially felt like a bomb dropped in my head and killed multiple brain cells. It was awkward and one of the biggest mind effs for me. I got over it and listen to it more often now lol.

When I first heard BURN, I couldn't hear the entire song, because I wasn't in the mood. I never was in the mood, thought the song was too depressing... LOL

But I saw the translation a few days ago and, oh my, this song describes me a lot! And I finally heard the guitar at the end of the song... And I fell in love, after so much time having this song on the computer!

Mine would be Harukaze. In fact, this was the song that got me into Scandal. At first, I heard it from Bleach and I thought it was too girly, same with Shoujo S but then I listened to it a couple more times and the chorus was really catchy, same with Shoujo S.

BURN, for some reason I just couldn't like it the first time I listened. Then the song must've played while I fell asleep on the bus to/from school. Somehow after that it stuck.

Taiyou Scandalous, got more and more catchy the more I listened to it.

Yumemiru Tsubasa, was kinda (I feel) detracted from their style. But all the same, listened to it a couple of times it popped up on shuffle on my music player, then got hooked.

Mine would be Koibito ga Santa Clause. It was never a song that I didn't like, but I just like so many songs that it seemed that one got put on the back burner. Then my friend was listening to the song, and I just had a realization of how great that song is. It's not one of my favorites, but I have definitely started listening to it a lot more recently.

Harukaze for me! .uhuh.

Taiyou Scandalous. I didn't like it when I first listened to it, but days went by, I started loving it.
