Well, I can't find a thread on this group so here goes:
Onmyouza is a Japanese heavy-metal band, but don't let that fool you. Their sound is a very old-school heavy metal one, and they have a lot of variety in their songs. I discovered them because they made the theme music of a Japanese anime series called Basilisk (a pretty good anime, by the way). The band is based, song and looks, on old Japanese folklore.
The complexity of the composition and quality of the musicians and vocalists is amazing, to me, and the presentation is very theatrical. They display a lot of energy on stage and interact with the crowd as much as possible.Whether or not you like the music, I don't think you can find fault in their technical or artistic aspects.
Members stage names:
- Kuroneko: Lead vocals
- Matatabi: Bass and lead vocals, lead composer
- Maneki: Lead guitar and chorus
- Karukan: Lead guitar and chorus
