ah, i wanted to post all their PVs but that would make the loading time longer.

yui (FLOWERFLOWER) actually performed with them several times when she was still known as YUI (in small live houses in secret) and they have been good friends because of the lives.  .love.

It took me a few listens but now I really like them. Kinda like a mix between Chatmonchy and GO!GO!7188. They sound fresh and their vocal melodies are sweet.

I discovered the band thanks to a member of this forum and I just love them!!^o^
I am looking forward to hear of them!

lol, when I first heard them I hated Asakos's voice so friggin' bad (I usually annoyed by how j-girl bands sounds, I hated Tomo's voice when i first heard it, too! [but I love it now (well, most of the time)]) + because of the vocals they sounded boring to me (I usually listen to ...um "more dynamic" and way much more "heavier" music (lol?, like coldrain, MTH or Ling Tosite Sigure, a few screaming lines here and there would do the justice, lol) but they actually grow on me (just wrote an [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] about them at the huwikipedia+add them and their albums to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] (my Scandal addiction started similarly...))

(does anybody know who do the illustration on their website/album covers? Yoshikawa, maybe?)

(btw, according to the jawiki (albeit without any source) Miyazaki, Matsumoto and two unnamed student formed the band while they're attending Kawasaki City High School for Science and Technology. Yoshikawa joined later, when the two unnamed student leaved the band. Yoshikawa's sister named the band, she thought that the word Shishamo written in kanjis (柳葉魚) look cool, while written in hiraganas (ししゃも) look cute. They changed their name from 柳葉魚 to SHISHAMO after they performed at Teens Rock in Hitachinaka 2012, where they won the "outstanding performance" and the "best vocal prize", but they lose the grand prize(=first prize?) to Sasakue Shōjo (ササクレ少女; Hangnail Girl)!)

wow i just find this thread i though SHISHAMO is not well known. I really love their music. It relax my mind whenever i listen to their song :D

This is why I love my Scandal Heaven friends so much. I also like Shisamo and Chatmonchy. Thanks for your input about these bands.

Re: new bassist - it seems they did so in Sept according to their official website. She's called Aya too.

Yup, they changed the bassist Aya (Matsumoto) to a new and younger uhm...Aya (Matsuoka). lol
It's due to the Aya's decision when they were still starting the band. She said she'll quit SHISHAMO when she'll turn 20. It wasn't really a surprise for the two but yeah, like they said, some fans were quite shocked.

Their second album SHISHAMO 2 which was released in March is also one of the my favorite albums of the year.

I've heard their song "Boku ni Kanojo ga Dekitanda" "Gatan Goton" and "Natsu no Fest" ....their music Indie Rock taste and i'm so in love with this band!!!!
Ah also their latest single "Nettaiya" are easy listening...love ballad song ^^

Does sombeody know, why they had choose the name Shishamo for their band (I know it's a fish name, but why him) ?

According to the Japanese Wikipedia Miyazaki's sister came up with the name, which she thinks looks "awesome" written in kanjis (柳葉魚) and cute written in hiraganas (ししゃも).

Last Year the three girlbands Scandal, Silent Siren and Shishamo have been in japanese album charts in top 10 simultaneously. The three grand S I think.


Shishamo is good and very sympathic but a little bit too calm for me.
