A 12-episodes drama based on the manga written by Qusumi Masayuki and Taniguchi Jiro.
The first season broadcasted by TV Tokyo from January 4th, 2012 until March 21st, 2012, and the second season was broadcasted from October 10th, 2012 until December 26th, 2012.
The main character is Goro Inogashira (Matsushige Yutaka), a man who privately runs an imported dry goods business.
He made everything he ate looks so damn delicious..You should watch it! And what makes it more better, the shops that appear in the drama are all real shops in Japan. It's more likely a food review show than a drama, I guess..@_@.....

Matsushige Yutaka did a great narration of what's in Goro-san mind, along with his great facial expression. Awesome! ..Here's my favorite scene when he enjoyed barbecue in eps. 8 season 1.

can't watch this at night. he'll make me gain some weight then. .lol.

Gaaahhh...gosh dangit jigoku! You got me hooked on this show. Now I can't stop watching. And I can't stop eating as well because it's almost impossible not to get hungry while watching. If I get fat because of this, I'm gonna lay all the blame on you man!

I've watched all the episodes up to Season 2, Episode 6 so far. It's such a simple show, but it keeps me coming back for more. I just wish there was some continuity between episodes, maybe have some past characters return like the actress he was supposed to marry, or maybe his senpai that's married to the Brazilian. Better yet, a little more background on Goro himself, like why he doesn't drink or why he doesn't want to get married.

But anyways, the food. It's all about the food. Man, I can't help but get hungry whenever I see him eating. The food looks great by itself, but the way he eats the food makes it look even tastier. I love how he slowly takes that first bite, then puzzles over the flavor. And when he starts describing the flavors, especially when he experiments with the different flavor profiles, always makes me want to sample what he's eating. I can totally imagine myself going into overdrive and stuffing my face the way he does.

And yeah, both of the yakiniku episodes had me drooling pretty bad. Another episode that got me really hungry was the Season 1 finale, the one with the Okinawan food. That rafute looks soooo good. And I could imagine Rina chowing down on that taco rice. Hara ga hetta!

Btw, is it just me or does Matsushige Yutaka resemble Christopher Walken? I'm always half-expecting him to bust out into dance whenever he walks off at the end of each episode.

Yeah, to be honest I'd love to know Goro's background too. But, I prefer not to know it all..He's our mysterious man..

Yeah, the season 1 finale was.. ! I really laugh when I saw the waitress face when Goro's order more menu..'Heck, what? He wants more?!' ..I imagine Mami would cook all of foods for me!..v^_^

Hmm, after you said that, I realized Matsushige-san really resemble Christopher Walken..
