as a die hard fan of scandal, i absolutely love all their song but im wondering what is their most famous song? especially in japan

Just a speculation, but probably Shoujo S. After all, it was featured in Bleach.

I love Shoujo S and it's probably my most favorite song but I think Shunkan Sentimental is more popular. SCANDAL include it in almost every setlists they play.

Having followed them for several years now i think Shunkan is the best known in Asia outside Japan.
Nothing is famous in the US dammit, almost no one has heard of them at all here.

Nah, it's definitely not "Yoake no Ryuuseigun."


I too would agree with "Shunkan Sentimental" being their most "famous" song worldwide for these reasons:

-On this popular lyric site Uta Net, ShunSen is by far their most viewed song with over 663,000 views. It's also their most viewed on this other lyric site Utaten.

-With 15 million views, ShunSen is easily the most viewed video on their region-free channel. Similarly, it's also the most viewed video on their Japan-only YouTube channel with 7.3 million views.

-As LK pointed out earlier, they play ShunSen at essentially every show they do (I can't remember the last time they did NOT play it). It's the only song they almost never fail to play. This is probably the best indicator of it being their most "famous" song.

-Fullmetal Alchemist is an absurdly popular series loved by all lol

I agree that ShunSen is likely to be the most popular song from their body of work.

As for shows without ShunSen - I've attended two shows where they didn't play it - the Amsterdam and London dates of their SCEU2016 tour.

Technically, ShunSen was played during SCEU2016 but it was one of the songs the get switched around w/ Shōjo S throughout the tour.

They do Scandal Mania polls periodically. The last one I heard them specifically mention, they said the top three songs were Scandal Baby, Shoujo S and Koe.

I guess that could be a little different from most famous with the general population, but I don't think any of their songs are really that famous with the general population. In terms of famous among people who have actually heard them, though, the first two on that list track with what I'd predict. Koe was the surprise, which is why they brought it up too.

The SCANDAL MANIA poll you're referring to was conducted in late 2013 and was the first and only MANIA poll they've ever done, past and present (it was to help create the setlists for their first MANIA tour in early 2014), and your ranking's a little off; the top three were, in order:

1. SCANDAL BABY
2. Koe
3. Shunkan Sentimental

But that poll was, after all, done six years ago. The poll conducted in mid 2016 that decided on the tracklist for their BEST ALBUM released in 2017 is probably a better indicator of their popular songs among the fans. For that, the top songs were:

1. SCANDAL BABY
2. Koe
3. Awanai Tsumori no, Genki de ne
4. Departure
5. Shunkan Sentimental

But yeah, most popular doesn't always equal most famous/well-known. Even though SCABABY is consistently the most popular song among the fans, it's definitely not a song that most non-fans would have heard/know about, especially since it's not a single song.

So, again, I do strongly believe that ShunSen is their most well-known song, particularly because of the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood anime ending connection. And again, FMA is an absurdly popular series loved by all worldwide lol

Yes you would need a Poll every year for an accurate list, they have done loads of stuff since 2016.

But I am inclined to agree with Jade about their probably best known song.

Ahh ic, thanks for enlighting. This question has been on my mind for so long lol. I remember last time when i first heard scandal its also from fma, this song got me hooked to them.

Also, I observed that Shunkan is 'the song' which live audience usually sing along with SCANDAL.
