Shiroten PerformerHihi HYD's my first and will always be my favorite JDrama
Depends what genre ur into hmm...
If you want comedy, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e's a classic, followed by Stand Up! (This is a story of 4 guys tryin' to lose their virginity lol, definitely one of my faves), Nobuta wo Produce was pretty popular as well (2 guys literally producing a loser of a girl to become the most popular in school)
Other Notable Comedy:
Mei-chan no Shitsuji
Atashinchi no Danshi
Yamada Tarou Monogatari
If you want heavy drama, there's this jdrama with a dude who's half-filipino living in japan (warning: discrimination, but depends if ya have an open mind .uhuh. ), Bambino (a rural cook starting out small striving to make it big in the city as a chef, but er, obstacles await him, if ye like watchin' hell's kitchen this could be the JP version .chesttap. ) Another good title would be Maou, it's about a dude seeking revenge against a certain individual who bullied and killed his only sibling during highschool, but the irony is that that particular individual's tryin' to turn his life around by serving as a member of the force (detective); the main character has the sort of Light Yagami/Lelouch feel as he is more of an anti-hero.
Other notable Drama:
The Quiz Show II [This one's ironic, it's filled with comedy but storyline's heavy in drama]
Gokusen I&II [III wasn't as good as the first two, prolly the reason why it was the last lol]
Ryusei no Kizuna
If ye want heavy romance, I'd definitely recommend Hanadan, BOF has nothin' on it .bleh. 2 seasons plus a movie to finish it off. Usually romance is sprinkled on other genres esp. in comedy, so i couldn't recommend anything PURE romance, happy watchin' .clap.
Last but not least, Crows Zero and Crows Zero II are a must-watch, trust me, it puts shounen fighting titles like gokusen to shame .lol.

Shiroten Performerwow that's a nice list ye got there nikid, i see you've got good taste for jdrama n' movies .clap.
Watched a few of those, still plannin' on watchin' other classics like 1 litre >.< (it's hard to balance anime and jdrama =_=")
Usually tho I select dramas i watch when the lead's one of my fave celebs hihi, so sometimes i dont pay much attention to storyline when selecting, i only appreciate the storyline as i continue to watch .uhuh.
@mc
The bluray's out (ZERO II), and it's pretty epic too (no surprise there eh? .clap. )

The movies hmm; Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru, i watched that coz the 2 main actors are quite popular (nana eikura and jun matsumoto), it err.. it's better if u watch it with an open mind .ehem.
I haven't watched the rest of em but i can recommend the ff jmovies i watched for the past 2 years:
Linda Linda Linda
Story of a female rock band [Scandal Vibes .omg. ] It's got popular actresses kashii yu (ye mightve watched her from Yukan Club and the 2nd detective conan drama special) and aki maeda (battle royale)
Azumi 1&2
This one is set in a time of ninjas/assassins, really good cast, it's got aya ueto, oguri shun, joe odagiri, hiroki narimiya and ishigaki yuma
Suicide Song
This one's cool, title's self-explanatory XD
Battle Royale 1&2
(You've prolly watched that already lol, first one was good, second one's okay)
If ye just wanna get into some movies for some hot girls:
The Machine Girl
Oneechanbara
Yoyo Cop Girl
The rest in my list that i watched durin' my earlier years u prolly know already (titles like suicide club, shutter, one missed call series etc etc) XD
Hmm from that jdrama list, I'd say i can recommend buzzer beat and nodame cantabile (the latter i saw recently in a poll for most sought drama to have a sequel) XD
.omg. .omg.

First one's okay (coz it's inevitable to compare it to manga so cant avoid some disappointment there XD), second one's the funniest and most colorful of em 3, third one's bad coz its like, they recycled material from the first 2 seasons XD
@nikid
Ohh, cool, do ye also watch Kmovies (they also got lotsa pretty good stuff :D)

I love Ryuhei Kitamura movies, they are absolutely kick-ass! .punches. "Versus", "Aragami", etc.
I also like this one film by Junzo Itami, it's called Tampopo; really funny and introspective film about the joys of food and life
Akira Kurosawa films are great, The Hidden Fortress is a sentimental favourite of mine

I love Love 2000, Shomuni (aka Power Office Girls) and Team Medical Dragon (both seasons rock!)
