Hello all!
I'm from the Bay Area in Northern California, and have just gotten into the band. So far I love their sound. I came from more of a classic rock to metal to post-hardcore progression in music taste. Within the last few years, I found myself falling in love with the Japanese culture and most specifically their music and how lively their rock scene is.
I've heard of SCANDAL from Star Driver, FMA, and their rendition of Anohana's Secret Base, but never really delved deep into their music until this last month in preparation for their SF show (which had unfortunately run out of VIP tickets =\ ). I just love their stage presence from all the live performances available on youtube. Honey's been on repeat for me since I heard Platform Syndrome as a suggestion from a friend. Just blown away, so much so that I want to do a loose imitation of Mami's Red Strat. (I like the natural headstock)
Coming from a bit heavier of a background brought me to Japanese bands like coldrain, My First Story, sokoninaru, and Dir en Grey. Then I chilled out a bit, checked out some indigo la end, Polkadot Stingray, and tricot. After getting the chance to check out tricot live in SF with their original lineup, i did more digging into the female fronted bands and saw SCANDAL again.
I, like many others i assume, love the dynamic within the band, four musicians that get along really well and make kickass music. I'm looking forward to seeing them in a couple months.
I'm always be down for some suggestions! Anyways, nice to meet you all!
(Current) Favorite Tracks: Koe -acoustic-, Platform Syndrome, Standard, Take Me Out, Koisuru Universe, Futari
