Hi, all!
New member- Dave from Ohio, USA.
About seven months ago, I was looking up bands I used to see on MTV (in the 1980's- when they played rock-n-roll). There was a group called Scandal with a lead singer named Patty Smythe. The band had great instrumentals, and Ms. Smythe a voice to match.
Anyway, I widened the search and came across "Japan Group Scandal". Clicked on it, found a list of videos. The first one I cued up was, "Shoujo S". .wow. Awed. Dumbstruck. Halfway through the song I had to remind myself to breathe. How was this amazing sound coming from this quartet of fiery little foxes?
After watching that a couple more times to convince myself it's real, I watched "Taiyo To Kimi Ga Egaku Story". Heart palpitations. I wanted to cry, I wanted to cheer, I wanted to climb up on the roof and scream at the top of my lungs! No! I just wanted more! I wanted to hear more. I wanted to see more.
I grew up in the 1960's. I saw the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Yardbirds, Cream, Mamas and Papas, Grass Roots, Jimi Hendrix, up to and through Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen, Moody Blues, you name them. From the early to the late years, the most iconic musicians in rock and roll. The ones everyone else is compared to, the hottest guitar riffs, the tightest bands.
I thought rock-n-roll was DEAD! I haven't heard anything new come out that really impressed me for over 25 years. Then I found SCANDAL!!
On my life, Haruna has the most beautiful voice I have EVER heard! And when they harmonize, it's angelic.
So, in conclusion, THANK YOU for this forum. .hail.
