"EVERYBODY SAY YEAH! ～Takkyu Ishino Remix～" will be featured on a CD for the first time as it is to be included on the upcoming 8-disc compilation album 『Takkyu Ishino Works 1983～2017』, an album that contains Japanese composer/producer Takkyu Ishino's produced/remixed/collaboration/etc. works from the past 30 years. The remix was first made available digitally in December of 2013.

The remix of SCANDAL's 「EVERYBODY SAY YEAH! ～Takkyu Ishino Remix～」 will be available on the iTunes Store from 2013/12/4.

This unique collaboration between SCANDAL and Takkyu Ishino came about from the YouTube music program 「WISH presents Shirokuro Utagassen」 (Black and White Song Festival). SCANDAL appeared on 11/28 as guests on 「Shirokuro Utagassen」 ＃10 and revealed this collaboration. Additionally, SCANDAL will be appearing at the 「WISH presents Shirokuro Utagassen」 Premium Live on 12/7.

SCANDAL had not yet heard the completed remix at the time of the taping. Music Natalie talked to the four of them right after recording the program.

──This pairing of SCANDAL and Takkyu Ishino was a bit unexpected.

MAMI: Since this is the first time a SCANDAL song is being remixed, we feel the joy in it being made anew. We're looking forward to what kind of elements Takkyu-san will add to us.

RINA: We had him choose which one to go with out of a selection of about 5 songs. He chose 「EVERYBODY SAY YEAH!」 from among songs with tempos and lyrics all over the place, but I really want it to have no trace of its original form (laughs).

TOMOMI: I love Denki Groove's songs. I also love the song 「N.O.」 and the collaboration song 「Sei☆Ojisan」 with SCHADARAPARR (laughs). I love rough coolness, so if he can inject elements like that into our song, then fun things are sure to happen. We're the ones who are looking forward to it the most.


──You've announced that you will be including condensed elements of your tour into 「WISH presents Shirokuro Utagassen」 Premium Live. What's that looking like?

HARUNA: As we've been particular about going in the direction of 「Enjoy watching us」 especially on our current tour, we want to show everyone a performance that only we can do. We want to deliver the uniqueness of a live performance which is different from listening to a CD, so we'd like to bring as much as possible as a band, such as changing arrangements or trying out medleys.

RINA: If we have people who are like 「I've listened to several SCANDAL songs」 or 「I somehow know of them visually」 watch our live shows, I'm sure they'll feel a gap. Filling in that gap and conveying 「Ah, so this is what they're like」 will be transmitted clearly if we concentrate what we're doing on our current tour.

MAMI: The other artists appearing will fire us up. We often disappear in the midst male bands, but it's interesting to think about how you can showcase your performance depending on the performers and the atmosphere of the place at that time and whether or not you want to go into the offense.

Don Dio wrote:I'm not sure I fully understand what they mean by "condensed elements," but judging from the end of Haruna's reply I have to guess they will play alternate arrangements of their songs.  This would be cool.  I prefer when artists change up their songs for a live performance than copying what they did on an album.  

Or this means they plan to play abbreviated versions of their songs, like in a medley.  If anyone can make sense of this, please chime in.

Don Dio wrote:As for medleys, I do have a recording of them performing in 2013 where they merged "Koi No Gestault Houkai" and "Kagen No Tsuki" together.  The video had them all dressed in black and white-- maybe it's from the festival mentioned in the intro.
