HARUNA and MAMI will participate in Osaka Marathon 2017 on Sunday, November 26th! The course will begin from Osaka-Jo Koen (Osaka Castle Park). They will be running the full 42 km/26.2 mi marathon course!

Like anyone could. I doubt I would even see the two of them since many people would be participating. And it's not like the two of them would be running on their own and and like nobody should be running alongside them. I have a few hours to think about it though. Kyobashi is just 300 yen away after all.

Whoa they're doing the full mary! being an avid runner and have completed the full a couple of times i hope that they make it. i didn't see any posts from them that they trained for it.

About that, I think you shoudn't worry. Japanese people have a good physical endurance when it comes to this things.

Too bad, I didn't join this year's Osaka Marathon. I would have paced either one of them if I were there, LOL! Just kidding!

I'm not an expert but aren't those good times for someone who just run their first marathon? I can barely run 2km and here they are, running 42 ahah.
super happy they look so proud of themself. who knows, maybe next year the full scandal team will take part in the marathon.

Why didn't Rina and Timo joined?

It was so fun to follow them from the page and twitter, I stayed up until 3 AM but it was worth   
I'm very proud of them, I can't even walk 10 km without wanting to die jaja

It could be that Rina and Tomo are not in shape to run a full mary or they have other things to attend to as there are no pictures of them waiting for haru and mami at the finish line.

Yup those are decent times for a first timer. I'm pretty sure mami-chan would have gotten a faster time if not for her achy knee.

So proud and amazed by their accomplishment and more importantly they safely finished it.  

Got to say I am impressed with their achievement - takes some doing running a marathon, not just on the day itself but all the preparation training beforehand. I have run 10k for work charity event before and very nearly finished me off.

Just a one off or more planned I wonder?

It's nice to see the girls participate in athletic activities, I remember the members joining in a marathon in Hawaii except Mami couldn't participate. 
But yeah, congrats to the girls, I bet they're exhausted, I know i would be. But that running keeps the blood flowing.

42 km is insane! To my knowledge they ran a much shorter distance before, maybe last year or 2 years ago...

That would be the Honolulu Ekiden 2016 (a relay race) in Hawaii last May. MAMI of course couldn't make it due to getting sick, but the leg HARU ran was 6.28 km. I got to run it with her and that course was pretty gnarly due to it being nothing but hills. It is impressive how she moved up to doing a full marathon.

Don't get me wrong but, there's nothing insane on finishing a marathon if you have the proper training, diet, and resting habits. I am a marathoner (and Osaka Marathon 2016 finisher) and aspiring coach myself and I believe that anyone can finish a marathon. All you have to do is give yourselves a five or six months.

Anyway, I am really impressed with their official time as first timers. It means that both women stuck to a marathon program and possibly hired a running coach despite of their hectic schedule. They still look fresh after crossing the finish line!

While that may be so, not everyone can or wants to run a marathon themselves; that's why those who do not and cannot run one are impressed by everyone who is able to do so. Therefore, no matter how you cut it, finishing a marathon is an impressive feat for HARU and MAMI.

Yeah, as someone who HATES running/jogging, i admire anyone that can do it for this long of a distance. I generally get 6-10 miles in a week but there are tons of people who do that daily. It appears they get some training and what not semi regularly(i say that because we have no idea to be honest,) but we've seen Haru stretching in multiple videos, Rina has posted about working her core and some of you have seen first hand these girls can seem able to run longer distances. 

That being said, running a marathon is no easy feat so congrats to them!
