wildthing aka Oliver
I guess I've written enough posts that I should try and introduce myself.
I'm Hong Kong Chinese but was brought up in London, now living and working in Tokyo for many years.
I guess I was kind of a late starter in being a Scandal fan, the first show I managed to get tickets to was at Budokan for Perfect World in 2016. (oops)
Typically if you don't act fast in Japan, for any popular acts, tickets are sold out within minutes!
I got interested in Scandal around the release of the album "Standard" before that I thought Scandal was another typical Japanese idol group, due to the fact they were in school uniform. My initial thoughts were, "oh no" another Morning Musume or AKB kind of Idol group.
I've been listening to JPOP for a long long long time, and I typically like a singer or band for their voice and music before I know what the singer or band even looks like. But back then I think I kept seeing Scandal in school uniform on TV and billboards before I even listen to their songs properly and I guess it put me off.
I tend to like singer/songwriters I remember I was in Hong Kong back in 2011 for YUI's concert and at that time I remember seeing Scandal's huge billboard at Sino Centre 信和中心 for their Hong Kong concert. At that time I was a little curious, but not curious enough. Doh!
I was lurking on this forum as a viewer, but not joined until a couple of months before the 2016 Ekiden by then I had gone to a few live events.
After Ekiden 2016 I have stay connected to many of the SH members, overseas members and Japanese fans who attended.
Since I'm located in Tokyo and have joined Club Scandal and Mania, its been much easier getting access to information and tickets etc. But still I'm impress how fast SH is as well, I remember a few times when Jade had already translated and posted something before I can hit the send button
Anyway, should any of you visit Japan and need a bit of assistant on anything, feel free to drop me a message and I'll help in anyway I can.
PS I also currently follow 家入リオ Ieiri Leo and 植田真梨恵 Ueda Marie since their debut.
