Well, I just categorized some songs of SCANDAL into ballad and mid-tempo. Did I forget something? Or am I correct about this?
How about LOVE? It has a conformity of reggae. My favorites are HELLO, OVER DRIVE, Chiisana Honoo and one piece. In ballad, my bias is HELLO. Simply because HARUNA's voice is very exceptional there. The blending of her voice and MAMI's is very soothing in the said song. For mid-tempo, it's between Bright and OVER DRIVE. What's yours?

Lots of good stuff for mid tempo (rock Ballads) songs I voted for: Graduation, Chiisana Honoo, Burn, Aitai, Weather Report, HARUKAZE, Hachigatsu, Departure, Bright, Hachigatsu, and Bitter Chocolate.

But of course I like all of these songs (except Winter Story), so voting was really hard.

Kimi to Yoru to Namida is my 2nd fave mid ballad but its not up here. .plank.

Harukaze, although parts of it don't feel mid tempo.

For me the answer was clear. Of course Departure

Never really thought HARUKAZE is a mid-tempo or ballad song, but it is my favorite among those listed.

Departure got my vote.

A close second was Chiisana Honoo.

"Chiisana Honoo" for sure. The lyric, the guitar melody both very touching. Especially the guitar line by Mami. Like she is pouring her heart out. Her most aggressive picking in any song so far.
Reminded me a bit about my favourite late Gary Moore.

Since I can only vote for one, my top choice is "Departure."  I think it's the prettiest melody they've written.

HARUKAZE is my favorite ballad and closely second is Departure and third place is for Hachigatsu but  I hesitate with Aitai...

For me, it's Morning Sun.

Ivory would be a close second.
