cossami is an all-female Japanese pop trio from the suburbs of Tokyo. The band was formed by two high school girl; Minami Taga (vocal, percussions) and Hiroko Kosa (vocal, guitar) to participate in their school's cultural festival. Kosa was a reader model for the fashion magazine junie in junior high school, while Taga was a reader model for CUTiE in senior high. Kosa was also featured on the frontpage of Shūkan Asahi.
Their debut single After the rain was released on February 25, 2009 by BMG Japan. The title track was used as the ending theme song for the TV anime series [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], while the B-side songs were used as insert songs. After the release of their first single they switched label to Kitty Records (yes, that Kitty Records). Their first release with the new label was the EP titled Your side, which was released on August 5, 2009. Kitty also re-released their first single After the rain on the same day. The opening track on the EP titled sun.day was used as a CM song for Arc-en-ciel wedding hall.
The band's second single Ringo (りんご; Apple) was released by VAP on April 21, 2010. They released their second EP titled Kekkon Siyo (結婚しよ♪; Wedding) on February 23, 2011. Its titular track was used as a CM song for Arc-en-ciel wedding hall. In August 2011 they recruited two new member, vocalist haruca and keybordist yoshie. On October 5, 2011 they released their first digital single Yasashisa ni Tsutsumareta Nara (やさしさに包まれたなら; Embraced by the Tenderness), which is a Yumi Matsutōya cover. The track was used as a CM song for Ajinomoto's Sweet Pal sugarless sweetener.
In August 2012 haruca left the band to focus on her solo carreer. In March 2013 they sung the ending theme song for the TV dorama Aikawa Shō no Otona Club 2. They also recorded two CM songs for the truck renting company Ushijima. In July 3, 2013 publisher Linkmark released their debut album titled tricolour mermaid, followed by the digital remix single Menuet (feat Rerulili). On May 7, 2014 they released another digital single, A to Z song (feat haruca) which was used as a CM song for Amity English School.
As of 2015 none of their releases managed to chart on Oricon or Billboard Japan's Hot 100.
