I only saw the J.J Abrams versions. But I know that there were several movies and a TV show with Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner.

I grew up watching Star Trek: The Next Generation and I love it! It watch shown right after MacGyver every Saturday nights on Philippine TV back from the late 80s to the early 90s. It was also made Patrick Stewart famous before he become known to everyone as Professor X.

I also grew up watching TNG. (I'd seen reruns of the original before that, and the early movies.) I still watch TNG reruns a lot on BBC America and Netflix; it's like "comfort food" to me. I can't believe how long it's been since it went off the air - it feels like it just debuted yesterday!
I've watched all the other series since then too but I think TNG is my favorite. The last series, Enterprise, was cancelled just as it started getting good.

TNG is my all time fave Star Trek series too. I'm glad I can watch it now daily on a local cable TV channel called HITS.
