I get that swearing/cuss words aren't allowed in this forum to avoid any possible bashing (which is totally understandable), however as someone who writes stories, I do use them to exhibit frustration or anger from a character's point of view. So it gets rather weird when I post up a story and then instead of cussing, it comes up as "*oooops bad word detected*" amidst a paragraph of text. 

Is there an option to not change the word at all? It seems like it's an automatic response from the forum, and it's not like it's a major thing that'll keep me from writing, but it'd kinda be nice to have the option of not having it changed to "*oooops bad word detected*". 

Besides for the 2 years I've been here, I haven't really seen anyone violent at all with their words so it shouldn't really make a difference imo. Everyone I've come across in the forum is highly respectful and there's just lots of admiration for the band and well, each other. Just my two cents is all~

If the words are changing like that after you preview or send your post, thats definitely the forum's word filter.

I've said this same thing to another member who also writes stories and asked me the same question, if you feel like the cuss word cannot be replaced by another word with a similar meaning but less strenght, you can use the original word in your story, you might have to bypass the forum filter by adding a ! instead of an I or something similar but I wont have a problem with the post as long as the cuss word is not used with a bad intention or something like that. Hopefully that helps you and let me know if you need anything else

Another question in the writing department lol; is it possible to bypass the word limit on posts or even insert a post between two other posts? I don't know if that second part made sense, but it'd be great to have a masterpost when you're doing a compiled thread of short stories but someone's already commented before the next part can be uploaded, and you end up passing the word limit when trying to edit the post. Of course there's just an option to link it to the post which is also fine, but I'm just curious if there's any way to bypass the actual word limit.

You could try to put it under spoiler tags or code tags something like this:

[ code] test [/ code] with no spaces. Im not 100% sure if this will work but i've seen it work in other forums so maybe! try it out and let me know if it works, but other than that I dont think we can do anything about that
