Since I had free time during lunch today, I went to an instrument shop for the first time in forever

Sakura have bloomedー!
Sakura fluttering in the blue sky truly is one of Japan's appeals

I was surprised to hear SCANDAL playing in the store,,
I'm always happy and embarrassed when I heard our songs outside. More like (embarrassment) ＜ (happiness).
It makes me happy when people on Twitter and such tell me 【I heard SCANDAL songs at ◯◯ー!】ー. Thank you.

Speaking of what I bought,
I got a new shield and keyboard cleaner for home use.
It's great when even small things can change your mood.
It's like a feeling when you place new shoes in the entryway, going to sleep and being excited for tomorrow

They had this tooー☆
I really was particular about making these, so drummers, please try them out. I recommend them.
I always secretly think to myself, "This picture is from the Pride era, so I wonder when it'll be updated to a newer version"...

Then, we had a SCANOMICS recording at night!
It was fun today too,,
The level of the off-shots that are uploaded after it airs is getting way too high,,
A while ago we took normal off-shots, but now they're really editing the background of whatever we're around at the time haha

Since we had free time before the next thing on our schedule, the members went to a cafe.

After, we adjusted songs in the studio, and then returned home as it was about to hit midnight
I'm always really happy each time we finish a song,,
I wonder what kind of song we'll make next time

Nice blog RINA-san .smile.

I think she is a bit addicted to music though, she has free time and goes to a music shop =P Must be funny to enter the store and hear they play a song from you .wtf. I imagine her being a bit embarrassed (not reason to be RINA!) then walk proudly in the shop with a "that's my song guys!!!" on her face .upwalk.

I wonder if the store manager knows her... "Hello customer good choice to buy SCANDAL RINA drum sticks, they are really good! And you know this RINA girl is really good I watched some live of her band and she is.... OMG RINA SUZUKI-san that's you!!!! .wtf. "

Having her own drum stick must feel nice too, I wonder how many she needs every day/week/month... Does this break easily or do drummers keep their drum sticks a long time?

About that photo it's so cute she wants it updated lol Happy

Doubt it's gonna happen anytime soon, they have surely other things to think than updating a picture of the product ^^

Looks like HARU was hungry, look at the size of that plate =O She needed energy for the work hehe! So they finished another song... I guess they are already working on the next single or filling the new album, 2014 is going to be great as every SCANDAL year .hora.

Ooops, I forgot to ask my sister to buy me a pair of Rina's drumstick and she's heading back to Indonesia tonight .whiteflag.. I'm also wondering about when will she get her own signature snare drum, I might consider buying one.

Anyway, it would be nice if the girls could try to experiment and create a song with a different time signature not just the standard 4/4 like all of their songs are.

It's possible but for a pair of sticks that only cost 1092 yen, that would be too much hassle. .lol.

Time signatures are difficult to explain but it's basically how you count beats in a song. There are a lot of time signatures but the most popular is 4/4 (four four) and the way you count is just 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 and so on. The most basic form on the drums is hitting the snare drums on 2 and 4.

Other time signatures are 3/4, 5/4, 6/8 , etc. It's kind of technical to explain but 6/8 are usually good for ballads with deeper meanings but not limited to them.

If I remember correctly, all of SCANDAL's songs are in 4/4. However, in the song Asterisk there is a 15/8 section in it. Must be confusing to read this, huh? .lol.

Well I don't mind that 4/4 because I really love all of their songs. But now that they compose more songs it seems maybe they will try another time signature Happy

For the sticks, yeah I guess but if you really want them maybe get a few pairs online if it's possible =P

lol I would think they would have been much more professional than that. The sticks came out during the same year as Pride (although 9 months later), so that's probably the picture that RINA wanted them to use at the time.

I don't think I'd have used shoes as an example, but I totally understand which feeling she's talking about x)

Maybe they'll try some more unusal meters or even mixed/additive ones in the future but 4/4 is kind of a "standard" in rock music.

I agree that 4/4 is the root of rock music. I think their song writing routine is always melody came first!
Btw, I play guitars and can handle drums. But the only song not in 4/4 I can manage is "The Loner" by Gary Moore haha!

Another really interesting blog from Rina, I am not even in a band any more but I still love to visit music shops, there are always other musicians there talking about music.
Yes I would be really proud if they were playing a song by me, but they might have said "Great group but the drummer is rubbish" !
