Well, she is undoubtedly a very talented bassist; good for her! I'm also looking forward to what songs she'll be covering. I think it'll be great to see what other styles she can do other than SCANDAL's songs. But I do know that the show changes band members sometimes. Does anyone know how long Tomo is scheduled to be as a bassist? Is this just a temporary thing or is it more of a long-term deal?

Info about this is super limited right now, so, no, we currently don't know any of that. However, I doubt they'll even announce that kind of info.

If I had to venture a guess, though, I would say it's probably a long-term deal with just a few appearances here and there, since the members of the band are all full-time musicians with their own busy schedules like TOMO. The band also has quite a number of members, five of which are making their debut on next week's episode.

So basically, Shin Domoto Kyoudai is introducing a whole lot of new 'members' which includes Tomomi? And I guess only a few appearances here and there makes sense. SCANDAL among other bands/musicians do have a busy schedule, after all. But out of curiosity, is the 'band' actually used a lot regularly or is it just depending on the musical genre/artist? Yes, it looks like they're introducing a total of 6 so far as new members for their band. Maybe they just decided on including TOMO, since last March is when they first announced the 5 new members would be joining.

Not sure on that, but they're probably used whenever they have a musical guest on, regardless of genre.

I feel bad for asking all these questions so early lol, so thanks for answering them :)But reading over the generasia page, I do think that Tomo'll probably be on quite a lot since they have quite a few segments on the band members; unless they decide to not include the bassist in a few episodes. Besides, this is a once-in-a-week program, so it shouldn't cause that much of a hassle. Of course if the program does happen to clash with SCANDAL's schedule for some reason, they could do the aforementioned thing and not include Tomomi, which isn't the best thing to do but still understandable.

Geez for a second you really scared me when I read the title. I thought TOMO was leaving SCANDAL to join another band... .sweat. 

Then I quickly realized and remember this was the name of a TV show  .happy. 

About the news, and even if this seem to be something that will not happen a lot at all, I think it's great! Means she can work a little bit outside of SCANDAL (well like HARU even if it's not the same thing) and also that others consider her as talented and want to work with her. Growing up and trying other things is great  

Now of course this might be a move from the company to promote SCANDAL in a way and not related to TOMO's skill but even if it is it's still great for TOMO  .clap. I wonder if MAMI or RINA will have that kind of side project soon.

I just hope she will play cool songs she enjoys.

But 5 weeks to wait for the TV show now.... pffff  :freeze: 

I think it is good that timo try new things since haru is busy with her own schedule.
I'm kind of curious about this, but even more what mami and rina are hiding or if they will be the unactive ones until new schedule as 4 (I remember rina complaing about everyone having their own life busy since haru has the musical and timo and mami had to study for the driving licence)

TMR has always praised TOMO for her bass skill, so maybe he recommended her? she's one of the best honestly. And ermergerd she's participating in the talk part. xDD that episode will be super adorable. i always love it when tomo speaks, it's awkward and cute. haha

actually, for people wondering (?) if the show is popular, the show itself is hosted by kinki kids (johnny's jimusho idols who saw their debut on 1997) and the very first episode was aired on 2001 so it has now more than 500 episode  .omg. they always had great guests so I personally say it is big show

The blog that I posted about in my first post made it seem like it was to air on the 20th. The link to the Oricon article about it that you posted even thinks so; it quoted it directly from the blog post.

Since scandal_band says her debut ep will air on the 6th, I'm sure that's when it'll be. I would go with what they said, since they obviously would know more about what's happening with TOMO.

Also, it's a weekly show so there will definitely be a show on the 20th; it's just not confirmed yet that TOMO will make an appearance on it.

"Fuyu no Inazuma"? Yes, it is.

Their first official appearance was when they performed "Genkai LOVERS" with SHOW-YA's Keiko Terada.

The moment I read about this news, a huge smiled popped in my face. Seriously, if you like japanese TV shows, Domoto Kyoudai is one of the funniests, and aways has awesome guests.

I understood Tomomi will be part of the band, and will participate in the talk segment for the first airing, but will she be a regular on the talk segment, or she will be just like Shishido Kavka and the others, appearing only on the music performances?

I hope she will be a regular on the talk segment, too. This show is too awesome to leave Tomomi out of its main segment.

Just one thing, I'm not sure about this, but I hope Takamina is still a part of the show, too. She is the most active female member of Domoto Kyoudai ever, it would be a shame if she had to leave. Although, Tomo's "character" (the "dumb"* character that everyone makes fun of) would overlap with Takamina, so I think if Tomomi becomes a regular on the talk segment, probably she will replace Takamina. I would love to see how a "cool" character such as Mami or Rina would do in a TV show like this one, but oh well, it's already great to see a member of my favorite band as a regular member of my favorite TV show.

*No, I don't think Tomomi is really "dumb", it's just her character, someone that people tease during talk shows.

I don't think that they will replace Takamina. I mean, she's huge in Japan being part of AKB and it would work to have two "dumb" characters. If you've ever watched AKBingo!, it's filled with dumb characters, just like many other shows. 

Anyways this is exciting, that Tomomi is on the show. From what I've seen, it's pretty funny so she'll be a great addition especially to the band.
